Image Border
Frame a photo with a solid border placed outside its edges. Set the border width and color without covering the original image content.
- Add a border outside the source image
- Choose border thickness and color
- Keep the original photo area intact
Choose the border thickness
The selected width is added on every side. A 20-pixel border adds 40 pixels to both total width and total height.
Match the border to your layout
Use a neutral color for a simple frame or a sampled brand color for a graphic asset. Preview the contrast at the image edge.
Retain the whole photograph
The border expands the canvas instead of drawing over the outer pixels. Faces and details near an edge remain visible.
Check the final dimensions
If an upload requires exact dimensions, account for the border or resize afterward. A thick frame can significantly increase the output canvas.
Image Border FAQs
This tool uses one uniform width for all four sides.
The border uses the selected solid color rather than an empty transparent padding region.
A border is added to both sides of each dimension. For example, a 20-pixel border around a 1000 × 600 image gives an output of 1040 × 640 pixels. Allow for that increase when meeting a destination’s size requirements.
