Preserve the alpha channel
WebP supports transparent pixels, allowing a transparent PNG cutout to remain transparent. The converter does not invent transparency for opaque pixels or remove an existing background.
Inspect graphics carefully
Lossy WebP settings can introduce changes around text, logos and hard edges. Raise the quality or keep PNG when pixel-exact lossless artwork matters more than file size.
Use actual dimensions and bytes
The conversion keeps the decoded width and height. For website performance, also resize oversized source images and include explicit rendered dimensions in the page that uses them.
