Permanently replace a rectangular pixel region with a solid color.
Inputs and settings
Redact Image accepts Left (%) (minimum 0, maximum 100); Top (%) (minimum 0, maximum 100); Width (%) (minimum 0, maximum 100); Height (%) (minimum 0, maximum 100); Cover color.
Worked example
Redact Image example — Left (%): 25; Top (%): 25; Width (%): 50; Height (%): 25; Cover color: "#000000". Preview instructions: Select a still photo, then use Left (%): 25; Top (%): 25; Width (%): 50; Height (%): 25; Cover color: "#000000". The result is a PNG with permanently replace a rectangular pixel region with a solid color.
Output and limitations
The covered rectangle is first cleared and then filled with opaque RGB pixels. The exported PNG no longer contains the covered source pixels. Review the complete download for captions, reflections and other visible copies of sensitive information outside the selected rectangle.
