Move audio between the left and right speakers with a smooth adjustable pan cycle. A sine-wave oscillator controls equal-power stereo panning. Rate sets cycles per second; depth sets the left-to-right travel.

Turn frequency into movement
Pan rate is measured in cycles per second. A setting of 0.25 Hz completes one left-right-left journey every four seconds; 1 Hz completes that journey every second.
Set travel distance
Depth controls how far the sound moves away from center. Start around 30% for gentle motion, then increase toward 100% when a deliberately dramatic headphone sweep is wanted.
Follow a musical subdivision
For a 120 BPM song, one beat lasts half a second. A two-second pan cycle spans four beats; choose 0.5 Hz manually if that movement suits the phrase.
Render repeating automation
The oscillator is included in the downloaded audio, so the movement remains when played elsewhere. Unlike a manually moved balance knob, it repeats consistently through the rendered track.
