How it works

Fill and save the source form first. Flattening uses the existing appearance of each widget to place its displayed value into fixed page content.

Choose the right inputs

The fields are then removed from the interactive form structure. A recipient can read or print the values without accidentally changing a textbox or checkbox.

Understand the output

A field without a usable saved appearance may not display as expected. Reopen the filled source in its original form application before flattening if values look missing.

Use the result carefully

XFA is a different form technology and is explicitly rejected here. Flattening is not a digital signature, document certification or general tamper-prevention feature.
