Unix Timestamp Converter

Convert Unix timestamps and timezone-qualified ISO dates into readable UTC values. Choose seconds or milliseconds explicitly to avoid confusing the two timestamp scales.

Choose the timestamp unit

Unix seconds and milliseconds differ by a factor of 1,000. Select the unit used by your log or API before converting.

Make the timezone explicit

ISO input must include Z or a numeric offset. An offset-free local time is ambiguous and is rejected instead of guessed.

Recognize the Unix epoch

A value of zero represents 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z. Negative timestamps represent supported dates before that instant.

Compare dates across systems

UTC output provides a common reference for logs from different timezones. It is not a schedule conversion for daylight-saving rules in named regions.

Unix Timestamp Converter FAQs

A millisecond value may have been interpreted as seconds. Check the selected unit.
Use a timezone-qualified ISO value so the intended instant is unambiguous.
Check the API or log specification instead of guessing. For many contemporary dates, seconds commonly have ten digits and milliseconds thirteen, but that shortcut is not universal. The same instant uses a millisecond value 1,000 times its second value.
