Acceleration Converter

Acceleration Converter lets you convert acceleration through the metre per second squared: value × source factor / target factor. Enter your own values or load the worked example.

Method and calculation

Convert acceleration through the metre per second squared: value × source factor / target factor. Factors relative to metre per second squared: m/s² = 1; cm/s² = 0.01; ft/s² = 0.3048; standard g = 9.80665.

Inputs and settings

Acceleration Converter accepts Value (minimum 0); From unit (m/s², cm/s², ft/s², standard g); To unit (m/s², cm/s², ft/s², standard g).

Worked example

Acceleration Converter example — Value: 1; From unit: "m/s²"; To unit: "cm/s²". Computed output: { "value": 100, "unit": "cm/s²", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "metre per second squared" }

Output and limitations

Acceleration measures how quickly velocity changes. Standard g is fixed at 9.80665 metres per second squared and serves as a reference, not a local gravity measurement. Converting acceleration does not by itself determine distance travelled without time and initial velocity.

Acceleration Converter FAQs

Acceleration Converter applies the following rule to your input: Convert acceleration through the metre per second squared: value × source factor / target factor. The worked example on this page uses the same processor as the result button.
Acceleration Converter has these boundaries: The acceleration factors are fixed conversions. Unit labels specify the convention; no live data is fetched. Start by checking the value field against the units or format shown.
Acceleration Converter provides this sample: { "value": 100, "unit": "cm/s²", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "metre per second squared" }. Use the sample button to reproduce it, then replace the inputs with your own values.
