Unit Converter
Convert measurements within compatible unit groups, including length, mass, speed, area, volume and temperature. Select the source and destination units before calculating.
- Convert compatible measurement types
- Handle temperature offsets as well as scales
- Distinguish US liquid gallons from liters
Match the measurement type
Length converts to length and mass converts to mass. A conversion between unrelated dimensions is rejected rather than assigned an arbitrary factor.
Convert temperature correctly
Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin differ by offsets as well as scale. The tool also rejects temperatures below absolute zero.
Check volume conventions
The gallon option uses the US liquid gallon. It should not be substituted for an imperial gallon in a specification.
Review rounded measurements
The calculator converts the supplied value; it cannot improve the accuracy of the original measurement. Keep an appropriate number of significant figures for your work.
Unit Converter FAQs
Not without a material’s density. Mass and volume are different measurement groups.
No. It uses fixed measurement conversions, not live exchange-rate data.
Enter 20, select C as the source and F as the destination. The result is 68°F, following Fahrenheit = Celsius × 9/5 + 32. Temperature needs an offset as well as a scale, unlike a simple length-unit multiplication.
