Angle Converter

Angle Converter lets you convert angle through the radian: value × source factor / target factor. Enter your own values or load the worked example.

Method and calculation

Convert angle through the radian: value × source factor / target factor. Factors relative to radian: rad = 1; deg = 0.017453292519943295; grad = 0.015707963267948967; turn = 6.283185307179586; arcmin = 0.0002908882086657216; arcsec = 0.00000484813681109536.

Inputs and settings

Angle Converter accepts Value (minimum 0); From unit (rad, deg, grad, turn, arcmin, arcsec); To unit (rad, deg, grad, turn, arcmin, arcsec).

Worked example

Angle Converter example — Value: 1; From unit: "rad"; To unit: "deg". Computed output: { "value": 57.29577951308232, "unit": "deg", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "radian" }

Output and limitations

Radians connect arc length directly to circle radius. A full turn equals two pi radians, 360 degrees or 400 gradians. Arcminutes and arcseconds are angular subdivisions and must not be confused with minutes and seconds of elapsed clock time.

Angle Converter FAQs

Angle Converter applies the following rule to your input: Convert angle through the radian: value × source factor / target factor. The worked example on this page uses the same processor as the result button.
Angle Converter has these boundaries: The angle factors are fixed conversions. Unit labels specify the convention; no live data is fetched. Start by checking the value field against the units or format shown.
Angle Converter provides this sample: { "value": 57.29577951308232, "unit": "deg", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "radian" }. Use the sample button to reproduce it, then replace the inputs with your own values.
