CSV to JSON Converter
Transform a CSV table into a JSON array using the first row as field names. Quoted commas and multiline cells stay within their original records.
- Use the header row as JSON keys
- Read quoted and multiline CSV cells
- Preserve cell values as strings
Prepare meaningful headers
Use a nonempty, unique name for each column. Duplicate headers are rejected so one field cannot silently overwrite another.
Retain leading zeros
CSV cells become strings, including numeric-looking values. A postal code such as 00120 therefore keeps its leading zeros.
Work with quoted content
Wrap cells containing commas or line breaks in double quotes. Represent a quote inside a quoted field with two consecutive quotes.
Review the resulting records
Each data row becomes an object. Check the output before sending it to an API that expects numeric, boolean or date types.
CSV to JSON FAQs
No. Cell values stay strings; convert types explicitly in your application if needed.
No. The first row supplies the property names for the following records.
No. Cell values remain strings, so 00120 is represented as "00120" rather than the number 120. If an API expects numbers or booleans, convert those fields deliberately after reviewing the JSON. This page returns an array, not JSON Lines.
