Electric Current Converter

Electric Current Converter lets you convert electric current through the ampere: value × source factor / target factor. Enter your own values or load the worked example.

Method and calculation

Convert electric current through the ampere: value × source factor / target factor. Factors relative to ampere: A = 1; mA = 0.001; µA = 0.000001; nA = 1e-9; kA = 1000.

Inputs and settings

Electric Current Converter accepts Value (minimum 0); From unit (A, mA, µA, nA, kA); To unit (A, mA, µA, nA, kA).

Worked example

Electric Current Converter example — Value: 1; From unit: "A"; To unit: "mA". Computed output: { "value": 1000, "unit": "mA", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "ampere" }

Output and limitations

Current is the rate at which electric charge crosses a section of a conductor. Ampere prefixes cover large supply currents and small leakage measurements. Keep RMS and peak readings distinct: changing from amperes to milliamperes does not convert waveform statistics.

Electric Current Converter FAQs

Electric Current Converter applies the following rule to your input: Convert electric current through the ampere: value × source factor / target factor. The worked example on this page uses the same processor as the result button.
Electric Current Converter has these boundaries: The electric current factors are fixed conversions. Unit labels specify the convention; no live data is fetched. Start by checking the value field against the units or format shown.
Electric Current Converter provides this sample: { "value": 1000, "unit": "mA", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "ampere" }. Use the sample button to reproduce it, then replace the inputs with your own values.
