Inductance Converter

Inductance Converter lets you convert inductance through the henry: value × source factor / target factor. Enter your own values or load the worked example.

Method and calculation

Convert inductance through the henry: value × source factor / target factor. Factors relative to henry: H = 1; mH = 0.001; µH = 0.000001; nH = 1e-9.

Inputs and settings

Inductance Converter accepts Value (minimum 0); From unit (H, mH, µH, nH); To unit (H, mH, µH, nH).

Worked example

Inductance Converter example — Value: 1; From unit: "H"; To unit: "mH". Computed output: { "value": 1000, "unit": "mH", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "henry" }

Output and limitations

Inductance describes flux linkage associated with current. Millihenries are common in filters and microhenries in switching converters. Core saturation, winding resistance and test frequency affect a real component, but the metric-prefix conversion treats its entered nominal inductance as fixed.

Inductance Converter FAQs

Inductance Converter applies the following rule to your input: Convert inductance through the henry: value × source factor / target factor. The worked example on this page uses the same processor as the result button.
Inductance Converter has these boundaries: The inductance factors are fixed conversions. Unit labels specify the convention; no live data is fetched. Start by checking the value field against the units or format shown.
Inductance Converter provides this sample: { "value": 1000, "unit": "mH", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "henry" }. Use the sample button to reproduce it, then replace the inputs with your own values.
