Mass Flow Rate Converter

Mass Flow Rate Converter lets you convert mass flow rate through the kilogram per second: value × source factor / target factor. Enter your own values or load the worked example.

Method and calculation

Convert mass flow rate through the kilogram per second: value × source factor / target factor. Factors relative to kilogram per second: kg/s = 1; kg/h = 0.0002777777777777778; g/s = 0.001; lb/h = 0.00012599788055555556; tonne/h = 0.2777777777777778.

Inputs and settings

Mass Flow Rate Converter accepts Value (minimum 0); From unit (kg/s, kg/h, g/s, lb/h, tonne/h); To unit (kg/s, kg/h, g/s, lb/h, tonne/h).

Worked example

Mass Flow Rate Converter example — Value: 1; From unit: "kg/s"; To unit: "kg/h". Computed output: { "value": 3600, "unit": "kg/h", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "kilogram per second" }

Output and limitations

Mass flow records the amount of matter transported over an interval. Kilograms per hour and tonnes per hour describe mass, not tank capacity. Converting to litres per minute additionally requires fluid density, which is deliberately not assumed by this converter.

Mass Flow Rate Converter FAQs

Mass Flow Rate Converter applies the following rule to your input: Convert mass flow rate through the kilogram per second: value × source factor / target factor. The worked example on this page uses the same processor as the result button.
Mass Flow Rate Converter has these boundaries: The mass flow rate factors are fixed conversions. Unit labels specify the convention; no live data is fetched. Start by checking the value field against the units or format shown.
Mass Flow Rate Converter provides this sample: { "value": 3600, "unit": "kg/h", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "kilogram per second" }. Use the sample button to reproduce it, then replace the inputs with your own values.
