Pressure Converter

Pressure Converter lets you convert pressure through the pascal: value × source factor / target factor. Enter your own values or load the worked example.

Method and calculation

Convert pressure through the pascal: value × source factor / target factor. Factors relative to pascal: Pa = 1; kPa = 1000; MPa = 1000000; bar = 100000; mbar = 100; atm = 101325; psi = 6894.757293168; mmHg = 133.322387415.

Inputs and settings

Pressure Converter accepts Value (minimum 0); From unit (Pa, kPa, MPa, bar, mbar, atm, psi, mmHg); To unit (Pa, kPa, MPa, bar, mbar, atm, psi, mmHg).

Worked example

Pressure Converter example — Value: 1; From unit: "Pa"; To unit: "kPa". Computed output: { "value": 0.001, "unit": "kPa", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "pascal" }

Output and limitations

Pressure describes normal force distributed over area. A standard atmosphere is exactly 101325 pascals, whereas bar is exactly 100000 pascals. Gauge and absolute readings need a reference-pressure adjustment before conversion; choosing another unit alone cannot supply that offset.

Pressure Converter FAQs

Pressure Converter applies the following rule to your input: Convert pressure through the pascal: value × source factor / target factor. The worked example on this page uses the same processor as the result button.
Pressure Converter has these boundaries: The pressure factors are fixed conversions. Unit labels specify the convention; no live data is fetched. Start by checking the value field against the units or format shown.
Pressure Converter provides this sample: { "value": 0.001, "unit": "kPa", "baseValue": 1, "baseUnit": "pascal" }. Use the sample button to reproduce it, then replace the inputs with your own values.
