Query String Builder

Convert a JSON object into URL query parameters. Encode names and values together, including arrays that need to appear as repeated parameter names.

Start with named values

Enter a JSON object such as {"q":"blue sky","page":2}. Each property becomes a query parameter.

Represent multi-value filters

An array produces repeated names rather than one comma-separated value. Confirm that this convention matches the receiving API.

Handle empty values deliberately

Null becomes an empty value, which may differ from omitting a parameter. Remove the property if the server should not receive it.

Flatten nested data yourself

Nested objects are rejected because APIs disagree on bracket and dot conventions. Choose explicit flat keys for the service you use.

Query String Builder FAQs

No. It builds the query portion; attach it to your intended URL using the appropriate separator.
URLSearchParams uses form-style encoding, where spaces are represented by plus signs.
Enter {"tag":["photo","audio"]}. The query becomes tag=photo&tag=audio, with one occurrence per array item. Attach it to the intended base URL using ? or &, as appropriate. Confirm that repeated keys are the format expected by the receiving service.
