Random Number Generator
Generate random integers between a chosen minimum and maximum. Create a single value or a batch for test data, classroom exercises and randomized examples.
- Include both range endpoints
- Generate up to 1,000 integers
- Use cryptographic random sampling
Set an integer range
Enter a minimum no greater than the maximum. The permitted range is bounded by the tool’s integer limits.
Avoid modulo bias
Random samples outside an evenly divisible range are rejected before mapping to an output value. This avoids favoring some integers through simple remainder arithmetic.
Expect repeated values
Each draw is independent. A batch may contain duplicates, especially when the requested count is large relative to the range.
Choose the right random tool
Use List Shuffler to randomize existing entries without replacing them. Use UUID Generator when you need standard-format identifiers rather than bounded integers.
Random Number Generator FAQs
Yes. Either endpoint can be generated.
This generator allows repetition. It is not sampling without replacement.
Set the minimum to 1, maximum to 6 and count to 1, then generate. Both endpoints are included. Generate a larger batch to simulate several independent throws; repeated numbers are valid outcomes, not a malfunction.
