Duotone Image
Recolor a picture using a shadow color and a highlight color. The tool maps brightness between your two choices to create a coordinated tonal treatment.
- Choose custom dark and light endpoint colors
- Map image luminance between those colors
- Retain smooth intermediate tones
Select contrasting endpoints
Choose a darker shadow color and a lighter highlight color for a clear tonal range. Similar endpoints produce a flatter result.
Translate brightness into color
Original luminance determines where each pixel falls between the selected colors. Midtones become blends rather than just one of two solid colors.
Coordinate a visual theme
Use known brand HEX values to give unrelated photos a shared treatment. Inspect faces and important details after the remapping.
Keep print duotone distinct
This export is a standard RGB raster. It does not define spot inks, print separations or a press-ready two-ink document.

Not here. The chosen colors are endpoints with intermediate blends.
This tool remaps tones between the chosen colors. Use Photo Filters for a partial saturation adjustment.
The selected colors are the shadow and highlight endpoints. Mid-brightness pixels use blends between them, preserving tonal detail. If you need a strict two-value black-and-white image rather than blended tones, use the threshold tool instead.
