Trim Transparent Pixels
Crop away fully transparent outer margins from a PNG or WebP image. Keep the visible content and its partially transparent edges within the smallest bounding rectangle.
- Find the bounds of nonzero-alpha pixels
- Remove only fully transparent outer margins
- Keep interior transparent gaps intact
Prepare a transparent source
The trim operation looks at alpha values, not the visible background color. A white rectangle is not an empty transparent margin.
Fit a logo’s visible bounds
Pixels with any nonzero alpha contribute to the bounding box. Faint shadows may therefore keep more padding than you expect.
Preserve holes within the artwork
Only the outer rectangle is trimmed. Transparent gaps inside letters or shapes are not filled or removed.
Check the new placement
The trimmed image has smaller dimensions and a shifted origin. Layouts that relied on the old empty padding may need their spacing adjusted.
Trim Transparent Pixels FAQs
White pixels are visible content, not transparency. Remove the background color first if appropriate.
The tool returns a minimal transparent image rather than an invalid zero-size canvas.
The trim removes fully transparent outer pixels only. A faint shadow or partly transparent edge still counts as content and can keep a margin in place. White or other opaque borders are not transparent and require a different crop or color-removal step.
