Remove Duplicate Lines Online
Clean repeated entries from a multiline list while retaining their first-seen order. Choose whether uppercase and lowercase versions should count as the same entry.
- Keep the first occurrence of each line
- Choose case-sensitive or insensitive matching
- Preserve the order of remaining entries
Clean a pasted list
Place one entry on each line and run the remover. Repeated lines are removed without sorting the surviving entries.
Choose case matching deliberately
Case-insensitive matching treats differently capitalized versions as duplicates. The first version supplies the spelling kept in the result.
Check invisible differences
Extra spaces can make two lines different. Clean whitespace first when spacing differences should not distinguish your records.
Retain meaningful repetitions elsewhere
Only use deduplication when repeated rows are unwanted. It can erase valid repeated events from a log or transaction list.
Remove Duplicate Lines FAQs
No. Each entire line is the comparison unit; words inside a line are not deduplicated.
No. First-seen order is retained. Use Sort Lines afterward if alphabetical order is needed.
Look for leading or trailing spaces and different capitalization. Matching is exact apart from the case option, so an invisible space can make a distinct entry. Clean whitespace first if those differences should not count, then remove duplicates again.
