Add Prefix and Suffix
Add a literal prefix and suffix to every line of a list. Wrap labels in brackets or add a shared path fragment while keeping the original order.
- Set both affixes independently
- Preserve list order
- Wrap empty entries too
Wrap labels with brackets
Use [ as the prefix and ] as the suffix to turn apple into [apple]. Every line receives the same wrapper.
Build a consistent list
A shared directory prefix can be added to filenames before copying them into a draft or checklist. Nothing is opened or fetched.
Leave one side empty
To append a comma to each line, leave Prefix blank and put a comma in Suffix. The last line also receives the suffix.
Check generated syntax
This operation does not escape quotes for programming languages. Use a JSON string encoder when the target requires JSON escaping.
Add Prefix and Suffix FAQs
No. Dollar signs, brackets and backslashes are added literally.
Put a bullet followed by a space in Prefix and leave Suffix empty. Remove blank lines first if they should have no bullet.
