Text to HEX
Encode a message as hexadecimal UTF-8 bytes. Inspect accents and emoji, then copy space-separated byte pairs for tests, logs and debugging.
- Use lowercase hex pairs
- Retain Unicode content
- Inspect individual bytes
Convert a small payload
Enter Hello to obtain 48 65 6c 6c 6f. Two hexadecimal digits represent each byte.
Understand multi-byte accents
The letter é is encoded as c3 a9 in UTF-8. Its code point and its encoded bytes are different representations.
Keep meaningful whitespace
Spaces and line endings in the message are encoded too. A space becomes 20 and a newline becomes 0a.
Choose a representation for debugging
Hex is more compact than a binary bit display and is often easier to compare against network or file dumps. It is still reversible text encoding.
